Leading Consumer Products and Technology Companies Gather to Discuss the Impact of Materials Integrity Management on Product Development

CHASKA, Minn. --(Business Wire)-- June 7, 2004 -- Fourth annual MIM Symposium highlights nanotechnology, fuel cell and biopharmaceutical research

Respected corporate leaders from Entegris (Nasdaq:ENTG), General Motors Corp., General Electric (GE) and DuPont will gather at the fourth annual Materials Integrity Management Symposium in Boston, June 8-9, 2004, to discuss technology research and developments changing the landscape for business and consumer products. The event will be held at the Sheraton Braintree in Boston.

Industries such as automotive, microelectronics, alternative energies and biopharmaceuticals are increasingly reliant on advanced critical materials to create the latest products. Protecting and maintaining the integrity of these costly materials during development, including sensitive liquid chemicals, nanotechnology, semiconductor and fuel cell components, have gained importance as the cost of development increases and competitive pressures to continually lower consumer costs grow.

The Symposium creates a forum for technical and managerial professionals interested in applying the science of materials integrity management to high-tech applications. The symposium will feature in-depth technical sessions, concepts and strategies for success.

Keynote speaker Daniel O'Connell of General Motors' Fuel Cell business will outline the company's path to the hydrogen future and Bob Florence of GE Advanced Materials will discuss how thermoplastics and silicon-based products hold the strong potential to change the face of microelectronics.

Other companies will present industry advancements in semiconductor, computer software and RFID applications. Technical speakers from companies such as Air Liquide Electronics, Carbon Nanotubes, Hyperion Catalysis, International SEMATECH, InSync Software, J.M. Hyde Consulting, Mississippi Polymer Technologies Inc., Rheingold Associates, RTP, Texas Instruments, U.S. Biochips Corp. and Victrex will join Entegris to discuss the financial and developmental benefits of protecting, transporting and handling critical materials. Similarly, academic speakers from leading institutions including Clemson University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Minnesota and Northeastern University will present their latest research. -0- *T WHO: Entegris, Solid State Technology, General Electric, General Motors, DuPont, others WHAT: Materials Integrity Management (MIM) Symposium 2004 WHERE: Sheraton Braintree, Exit 6 off Interstate 93/State Route 128, Boston WHEN: June 8, 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and June 9, 7:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. HOW: To register, visit *T
