Meetinghouse Announces AEGIS Device Manager Appliance; Trusted Computer Group's (TCG) TNC - Server Solution for Endpoint Integrity, Provisioning & Management

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- May 2, 2006 -- Meetinghouse, a worldwide leader in endpoint security, announced today that it will be releasing the AEGIS Device Manager appliance and working with industry partners to validate, and test their endpoint security applications in an end-to-end TCG TNC endpoint integrity environment.

The AEGIS Device Manager appliance hardware platform delivers standards-based endpoint policy management for 802.1X enabled enterprise networks. Built on a TNC architecture and Radius/AAA foundation, Meetinghouse's AEGIS Device Manager appliance provides IT organizations a reliable platform to deploy, configure, and manage 802.1X ports. Combined with endpoint devices using AEGIS SecureConnect endpoint software or other standards compliant supplicants, the AEGIS Device Manager provides a critical policy decision point determining which users and devices may have access to a protected network.

"Meetinghouse is working with third party firewall, anti-virus, and other security software vendors to accelerate market acceptance of the TNC architecture. Our objective is to leverage AEGIS Device Manager as a TNC server validation platform upon which third party vendors can test their security policy applications with a standards-based endpoint integrity platform," noted Gene Chang, Vice President for Product Strategy at Meetinghouse. "Early access to TNC server technology is essential to support other developers in creating end-to-end endpoint integrity solutions and to enable end customers to see the value of a complete functioning TNC architecture in their quest for wired and wireless network security. We expect the AEGIS Device Manager to be a popular platform for developing and demonstrating early to market endpoint integrity solutions," added Chang.

  AEGIS Device Manager highlights include:
  -- Identity-based Security
    -- EAP support
    -- AAA/Radius
  -- Integrity-based Security
    -- TCG TNC-S support
    -- TNC IF-IMV support
  -- Device Management Services
    -- Device provisioning
    -- Configuration management

Meetinghouse will be demonstrating its complete end-to-end TNC solution at its booth (#1115) at Interop Las Vegas 2006. Our demonstration uses our 802.1X supplicant for TNC--AEGIS SecureConnect--and the new AEGIS Device Manager appliance in conjunction with a firewall/anti-virus checking application from Check Point Software Technologies.

The AEGIS Device Manager appliance will be available for phase 1 integration testing by partners beginning the 3rd quarter of 2006. Phase 1 is intended to support acceleration of TNC solutions development by giving early access to developers and enterprise managers. TNC partners and enterprise IT managers who want to begin proof-of-concept validation and deployment planning should contact Meetinghouse at tnc_appliance@mtghouse.com

Benefits of an End-to-End TNC Solution

"Meetinghouse's introduction of their AEGIS Device Manager will help accelerate the adoption of the new TNC architecture, which has significant benefits for end customers who are looking to deploy secure access control policies leveraging ProCurve Networking's switches and wireless access points as a critical component in their network security strategy," said Amol Mitra, global product marketing manager, ProCurve Networking by HP.

"A consistent, industry-wide approach to data and network security is critical to our customers, both enterprises and service providers," said Steve Slattery, president, Enterprise Solutions and Packet Networks, Nortel. "Confirming interoperability of key security appliances with Meetinghouse and our other fellow TCG members continues Nortel's aggressive efforts to promote a common approach to securing converged networks."
