Apposite Technologies Announces Gigabit-Speed WAN Emulator
Linktropy 7500 Series Simulates Multiple Gigabit-Speed WAN Links to 4 Gbps
Las Vegas, NV (Interop (News - Alert)) – May 22, 2007 - Apposite Technologies, Inc. today unveiled the Linktropy 7500 and Linktropy 7500 Pro wide area network (WAN) emulation appliances. Both Linktropy models simulate wide-area network links of up to 1 Gigabit/sec. at full line rate. The Linktropy 7500 emulates a single link, while the Linktropy 7500 Pro can emulate up to 4 separate links with an aggregate throughput of 4 Gbps.
Linktropy WAN emulators simulate bandwidth, delay, packet loss, congestion, and other link impairments to emulate terrestrial, internet, wireless, satellite or any other type of wide-area network. An intuitive, browser-based user interface makes it easy to test the performance of networking applications under real-world conditions.
Both the Linktropy 7500 and 7500 Pro come in compact, 1U-sized, rack-mountable chassis, and include both copper and modular fiber/copper Gigabit Ethernet interfaces for convenient integration with any test network.
The Linktropy 7500 series joins the Linktropy 4500, which emulates WAN links of up to 155 Mbps. The Linktropy 4500, now in its second generation, has been widely deployed by enterprise network managers, software developers, networking equipment manufacturers, telecoms carriers, test labs, and military and government network designers.
With the capability of emulating links of up to 1 Gbps, the Linktropy 7500 series is ideal for benchmarking, demonstrating, and troubleshooting a wide variety of high-speed networking applications, including:
• Client/server applications
• Remote storage and backup
• Voice over IP
• IPTV (News - Alert)
• WAN acceleration
"Linktropy WAN emulators have become the benchmark for ease-of-use and cost competitiveness in a WAN emulation solution," said DC Palter, Apposite President. "The Linktropy 7500 now extends the Linktropy emulation capabilities to full gigabit speeds, and the Pro version expands it across multiple links. These new models offer an unbeatable solution for anyone who needs to test the performance of applications over high speed networks."
With prices starting at $7,500, the Linktropy 7500 furthers the Linktropy reputation for combining the precision and accuracy of a professional test tool with unmatched economic value and ease-of-use.
The Linktropy 7500 will be on display in the Apposite booth (#230) at the Interop trade show, May 22-24, 2007 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
About Apposite Technologies
Apposite Technologies makes WAN emulation easy by offering high-precision network emulation tools at reasonable prices. Apposite emphasizes ease-of-use so engineers spend time using the tools, not learning them. Apposite’s Linktropy 4500 and Linktropy 7500 WAN emulation appliances simulate bandwidth, latency, loss, and other network characteristics up to 1 Gbps with fine-grained precision to provide accurate simulations of terrestrial, wireless, satellite, internet or any other type of wide-area network.
