Sweden's Biosensor AB supplies narcotics detection systems to Indonesian police

(Nordic Business Report Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) Swedish biotechnology company Biosensor AB said on Monday (10 September) that it will deliver Biosens vapour and trace detection systems to the Indonesian narcotics police.

The order, valued at EUR75,000, represents the first delivery of two systems of a total contract for five Biosens systems.

"This is a very exciting initial order for us, and marks the beginning of a longer relationship which in the long term can mean an extensive use of our equipment in Indonesia," commented Bengt Hagander, managing director of Biosensor.

"It is also significant that we received the order after comparative tests with a competing American IMS technology, which did not meet the customers requirements," Hagander added.

Biosensor, headquartered in Solna, Sweden, develops and sells biotechnology-based systems for detecting explosive and narcotic substances. Including Indonesia, its products are currently used in some 12 countries.

One British pound (GBP) is worth approximately 1.48 euros (EUR).
