Police presented a case regarding Brown on Tuesday, but did not release any of its details, Los Angeles County District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison said. She said the office would have no further comment on the case.


Press corps in DC more specialized, internationalNEW YORK (AP) _ The Washington press corps at the dawn of the Obama administration is far more specialized and less interested in reaching average Americans than it was just a few years ago. The capital also has many more foreign reporters covering the U.S. from an outsider's perspective _ to the point where the Arab news channel Al-Jazeera have nearly the same number of accredited journalists as CBS News, a report issued Tuesday said.

`Lost' star says Smoke Monster secrets to emergeLOS ANGELES (AP) _ "Lost" star Daniel Dae Kim says one of the TV drama's biggest mysteries _ the Smoke Monster _ will be unveiled, and soon. Kim says the origin and nature of the malevolent dark cloud will be disclosed and viewers will even get a glimpse of its lair. Turns out the monster is as "old as the island" that's been home to the Oceanic jet-crash survivors and their foes.

`Grey's Anatomy' co-star: Heigl, Knight leavingLOS ANGELES (AP) _ "Grey's Anatomy" cast member James Pickens Jr. says the medical drama will be saying goodbye to Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight. Pickens, who plays Dr. Richard Webber on the ABC series, told Us Weekly magazine that Heigl and Knight are leaving.

Prosecutors want Joe Francis' bail revokedLOS ANGELES (AP) _ Federal prosecutors want a judge to revoke Joe Francis' bail while he awaits trial on tax evasion charges. In a brief filed Monday, prosecutors argue Francis has shown a "complete lack of respect" for the court's authority by missing a hearing earlier this month. A judge jailed the "Girls Gone Wild" creator overnight, but later granted his release on house arrest.

'Sopranos' actor Pastore settles assault suitNEW YORK (AP) _ Vincent Pastore of "The Sopranos" fame settled a $5.5 million lawsuit accusing him of assaulting his ex-fiancee. The settlement was announced Tuesday just before Pastore, 62, was to testify for the second day in Manhattan's state Supreme Court in the assault trial filed by Lisa Regina, 47.

AP Exclusive: US orchestras to help feed needyNEW YORK (AP) _ "The Soloist," the upcoming movie about a cellist who became homeless, has struck a chord with American orchestras. They are mobilizing to help feed the hungry. At least 163 orchestras in 45 states are expected to participate in food drives in late March, a month before the movie's release on April 24, the League of American Orchestras said Tuesday.
