Spiceworks releases new version of IT management software

(Corporate IT Update Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Network management software provider Spiceworks Inc announced on Wednesday the release of a new version of its free IT management software, including features designed to help IT professionals better manage their computers, networked devices and software.


The company said that the additions include the ability to remotely inventory and monitor virtualised machines and manage server and desktop processes.

The new release features: virtualised server and desktop management, enabling businesses to remotely discover and monitor VMWare ESX/ESXi & vSphere virtualised servers; remote process management, allowing administrators to remotely view and kill desktop and server processes; network map for wireless networked devices with support for Cisco wireless access points (WAPs); integrated CDW search; as well as integrated power management.

Version 4.6 of the Spiceworks IT Desktop is available for download from http://www.spiceworks.com.
