AtHoc Wins Multi-Year Enterprise Sustainment Contract from the US Navy

AtHoc, Inc. announced that the U.S. Navy has awarded a multi-year enterprise sustainment agreement for AtHoc IWSAlerts software in support of the Wide Area Alert Notification (WAAN) requirements.
According to a release, the WAAN requirements are part of the Navy's Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) Ashore Program led by Commander of Navy Installation Command (CNIC). The implementation of WAAN, based on AtHoc's technology, is led by NAVFAC and SPAWAR Pacific.
The Company said its solution capabilities include but are not limited to: computer desktop notification system integrated automated telephony notification system, email and SMS text message delivery to mobile phones. Future spirals of WAAN may include integration with the installation's outdoor sirens (Giant Voice), indoor public address systems, digital signage displays and smartphone apps, creating a fully unified, enterprise-wide emergency mass alerting capability.
"The Navy's WAAN system was the military's first nationwide network-centric mass notification deployment in 2007," said Guy Miasnik, President and CEO of AtHoc. "The Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) Ft. Hood after-action report specifically cited the Navy's AtHoc-based system as an example of an effective and modern mass notification capability. This demonstrates the Navy's exemplary thought leadership in the adoption of a highly cost-effective, best-in-class and proven emergency mass notification solution."
The WAAN capability also supports the Navy's post-emergency personnel accountability mandates via its bi-directional emergency mass communication -- alert recipients' responses can be tracked and automatically accounted. The Navy's accountability initiative extends to a separate contract with AtHoc to integrate its Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (PAAS) with the WAAN system.
