Fonality Earns E-Rate Certification to Help Schools, Libraries Qualify for Affordable Telecommunications Solutions

DALLAS --(Business Wire)--

Fonality, a pioneer in business communications solutions for small and mid-size businesses, is helping to support U.S. schools and libraries through its involvement with the nationwide E-Rate program. The certification ensures Fonality (News - Alert) can assist school district customers in leveraging advanced communications solutions in a cost-effective manner.

"We value our E-Rate certification and the partnership with USAC because we share a common goal - making telecommunications accessible, efficient and affordable for educational institutions," said Fonality CEO David Scult. "Fonality understands the importance of effective communications within the educational field and takes pride in the opportunity to deliver innovative technology to learning environments across the nation. The barriers of the traditional classroom are changing with the aid of advanced communications that enhance mobility and expand possibilities for learning, and we seek to be a driving force in this trend."

Administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC), E-Rate provides discounts ranging from 20 to 90 percent on certain telecommunication and Internet services, as well as equipment and maintenance, to eligible K-12 schools and libraries across the country. Per the USAC, funding is requested under four categories of service: telecommunications services, Internet access, internal connections, and basic maintenance of internal connections.

Fonality is already helping school districts benefit from advanced VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) solutions. The company recently finalized a major project with the school district for Ecorse, Michigan.

"Fonality has delivered a powerful communications system to help our school district improve productivity while saving money," said Charles Lackey, the city's IT director. "We are so thrilled that they are now E-Rate certified. Our school district, with its modest budget and limited resources, values partnerships that help us maximize our expenditures. With this new certification, we look forward to exploring new areas to leverage their solutions."

Fonality is a certified service provider in the E-Rate program and partners with educational institutions to implement affordable communications solutions.
