Nintex Workflow for Project Server 2010 Version 2.0 on Show at Microsoft Project Conference
PHOENIX --(Business Wire)--
Nintex (www.nintex.com),
a leading Microsoft (News - Alert) SharePoint company, and the sole Gold sponsor of the
Microsoft Project Conference 2012, announced today the availability of
Nintex Workflow for Project Server 2010 Version 2.0. This version adds
capabilities to create project event driven workflows, improvements to
demand management workflows, and still relies on underlying Nintex
Workflow power for collaborative workflows in Microsoft SharePoint.
Nintex Workflow for Project Server 2010 helps empower project and
portfolio managers to design and implement end-to-end workflows without
the need for complex and costly development cycles.
"Built to extend Project Server 2010 and SharePoint 2010, Nintex
Workflow for Project Server 2010 helps streamline portfolio governance
and project lifecycle management, without writing custom code," said
Chris Crane, director, Project and Visio product marketing, Microsoft
Corp.
Project and portfolio managers have a range of different needs for
automating tasks and processes. "We built our browser based Nintex
Workflow for Project Server to work from within the Project Web
Application (PWA) and to fulfill the needs for designing processes
related to demand management, event driven, and SharePoint collaborative
workflows," said Alberto Sutton, vice president of product management at
Nintex. "Users will also have the ability to query project data and
review reports using the familiar Project Server 2010 Interface," added
Sutton.
Demand management workflows created with Nintex Workflow for Project
Server are assigned to Enterprise Project Type's (EPTs) and can be
configured to present Project Detail Pages (PDPs) and set stage status
through the lifecycle phases according to an organization's Enterprise
Project Management (EPM) methodology. Christophe Campana, CEO of Campana
& Shott, an international consulting company for project management and
process optimization, observed that "Nintex Workflow for Project Server
allows our customers to easily implement workflows customized to fit
their specific project lifecycles, leading to significant cost
advantages."
In addition, workflows can be associated to asynchronous Project Server
2010 events and kicked off based on events such as when a project is
published, or a new resource is created. This helps ensure greater
governance across an organizations' project management practice by
monitoring budgets and resource status. Marnus Viljoen, chief technology
officer for FOX IT stated "The event driven workflow has made my life as
IT professional so much easier - I can now extend Project Server 2010
functionality without requiring the help of a developer. Implementing
workflows in Project Server 2010 using Nintex Workflow is so quick and
easy - I can't even imagine implementing a Project Methodology without
it."
The underlying Nintex Workflow integration with Microsoft SharePoint
helps improve collaboration and communications across the project team
during project execution and management. In addition, workflows can
connect to CRM, ERP and other line of business systems for billing and
resources, as well as Microsoft SharePoint Business Connectivity
Services, Active Directory, Microsoft Lync 2010 and Microsoft Office 365
sites in the cloud.
