BRIEF: State surplus property auction set for Wednesday

Apr 02, 2012 (Opelika-Auburn News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is hosting a surplus property auction beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Items available at the auction include office supplies, computers, vehicles and vending machines, among others. The items were either deemed surplus by federal and state agencies or abandoned items from airports in the Southeast.

Auction merchandise will be available for on-site inspection from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday. Photo identification and a Social Security number or a federal employee ID are required to bid on the items. The auction will conclude when the last item is sold.


The auction will be held at ADECA's Surplus Property Division warehouse at 4590 Mobile Highway in Montgomery. ADECA's public auctions are held three times a year.
