Teradici® Aligns with Arrow ECS to Further Expand PCoIP and VDI Adoption in Europe
BURNABY, Canada --(Business Wire)--
Teradici, the developer of the innovative PC-over-IP® (PCoIP®) protocol
that enables a true PC experience for desktop virtualization, today
announced a distribution agreement with Arrow Enterprise Computing
Solutions (ECS), a business segment of Arrow Electronics (News - Alert) Inc. [NYSE:
ARW], to distribute the Teradici APEX 2800 server offload card across
Europe. A leading VMware View™ distributor, Arrow ECS offers a range of
VMware products, enabling its customers to more efficiently run and
implement all applications and IT services within a VMware View
environment.
"With the widespread adoption of virtualization initiatives taking place
throughout Europe, we see the Teradici technology as a key addition to
our portfolio of virtualization solutions," said Julien Peronneau, vice
president of operations and business development for Arrow ECS in
Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "With this agreement, we will
further enable the acceleration and growth of PCoIP technology and
VMware virtual desktop implementation deployments throughout Europe."
Through this agreement, Arrow ECS will provide its extensive network of
solution providers across EMEA with the Teradici APEX 2800 server
offload card. The card greatly enhances virtual desktop deployments by
offloading the most active 64 displays from the server CPU, providing a
consistent, reliable user experience and allowing more virtual machines
per server. Compatible with all PCoIP zero clients and VMware View
software clients, the APEX 2800 server offload card is fully integrated
into VMware vSphere™ 4.1 and 5.0 and managed by VMware View 4.6 or later.
"With its strong ties to the VMware reseller community, we believe this
agreement with Arrow ECS will further drive adoption of the APEX 2800
and PCoIP-based VDI solutions throughout Europe, providing VMware View
customers with the best possible end user experience," said Trent
Punnett, vice president of marketing and product management, Teradici.
"With the help of our partners, we continue to expand the broad offering
of PCoIP products, and we look forward to providing clients worldwide
with exceptional VDI performance, flexibility and security."
The Teradici APEX 2800 server offload is available now at a list price
of €1,800. For further information, please visit Teradici website at http://www.teradici.com/apex,

About PCoIP Technology
Teradici's PCoIP protocol is an innovative remote display technology
that allows the user's desktop operating system, applications, and data
to reside in the datacenter, eliminating the need for traditional
desktop workstations, PCs and thin clients, and delivers an
uncompromised user experience to each person, anywhere, over any network
and to any type of device without incurring the security risks
associated with having data reside in remote PCs, laptops, or tablets.
PCoIP technology provides high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics
and high-definition media, with full USB peripheral interoperability,
locally over a LAN or remotely over a high-latency WAN. It compresses,
encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the datacenter
and transmits it 'pixels only' across a standard IP network to secure,
stateless PCoIP zero clients, thin clients, and mobile devices.
The PCoIP protocol is implemented in several software configurations,
including VMware View™, the industry leading desktop virtualization
platform as well as in silicon for hardware accelerated performance and
enhanced security. A growing ecosystem of over 30 third-party vendors
provide a wide variety of PCoIP products including server plug-in cards,
rack and tower workstations, blade PCs, zero clients, integrated
monitors, and IP phones with PCoIP capability.
