Boulder County is in for a cold, wet and snow day today as the National Weather Service has upped its forecast to call for 1 to 3 inches of accumulation today.
Earlier this morning, the Boulder-based weather service had called for today's rain to turn to snow to after noon with only a half-an-inch of accumulation expected.
Today's high is forecast to reach 41, with winds between 6 and 11 mph and gusts as high as 17 mph.
Tonight, there's a 20 percent chance of more rain and snow, with a low of 34.
The sun is expected to return Wednesday, with a forecast that calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 57, dropping down to 43 in the evening.
The 70s returns Thursday, with a high of 71 expected under mostly sunny skies before dipping back into the 60s on Friday and through the weekend.
Today's precipitation should be the only rain and/or snow the Boulder area sees for the rest of this week, according to the National Weather Service.
