IBS announces new executive appointments

Apr 06, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- International Business Systems, or IBS, an integrated ERP and supply chain provider, has announced the expansion of its leadership team with the hiring of David Rode as the executive vice president and general manager of EMEA; Hiten Varia as the executive vice president and general manager of APAC; Mike Verdeyen as chief technology officer and Melanie Ofenloch as chief marketing officer.


"This seasoned team brings decades of demonstrated leadership and a track record of success in supply chain and distribution management software needed to take IBS to the next level," said Pallab Chatterjee, chairman of the board, IBS.

David Rode, a software executive with more than 20 years of experience, has held leadership roles at software companies including iMANY, Lectra, Intentia and Information Builders, Inc. He also held global management positions at Safeguard Scientifics, Inc., and Milliken & Company.

Hiten Varia spent 17 years in executive leadership at i2 Technologies, now JDA, in leadership positions including chief customer officer; executive vice president of global customer operations, executive vice president of the Greater Asia Pacific Region, executive vice president of worldwide delivery and vice president of worldwide development. He also held management roles at EDS and Sylvex Cable in India and is chairman and founder of m9 Technology Solutions.

For the past nine years, Mike Verdeyen held leadership positions at RedPrairie including vice president of product development for retail products and technology; vice president of product development of global platforms and technology; vice president of product development of the enterprise applications group; director of product development for the offshore development center and director of product development for transportation management.

Prior to RedPrairie, he held several management roles at McHugh Software, Software Architects Incorporated, Computer People Unlimited and Digital Equipment Corporation.

Melanie Ofenloch is responsible for the overall global strategy and execution of IBS's strategic marketing program including product marketing, marketing communications, customer support, demand generation and strategic positioning. Most recently, she was an executive vice president of Weber Shandwick, the world's largest global communications agency and part of the $7 billion Interpublic Group.

A 20-year marketing and communications veteran, Melanie has led marketing organizations for both private and public companies including serving as vice president of marketing for i2 Technologies and Nanovation Technologies.
