Alltel Wireless Uses Oracle Retail to Support Stores

Apr 10, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Redwood Shores, CA News Facts Allied Wireless Communications Corporation (AWCC), doing business as Alltel Wireless , has implemented Oracle Retail Stores Solutions across all of its retail locations to support its growing consumer and commercial customer base in the United States.

Alltel is using Oracle Retail software to help improve store operations, tighten inventory control, simplify the purchase process, and enhance the customer experience.

By implementing Oracle Retail Point-of-Service , Alltel has streamlined the payment process, reduced complexity for the sales team, and has been able to capitalize on the strengths of cash and inventory management tools in order to access reliable, real-time data, regarding store transactions and expects to use that insight to improve store, merchandising and inventory decisions.

Simplifying Complex Transactions Alltel is using Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management to manage its retail and business accounts, warehouse stores and outside vendors, all while enabling accurate reporting based on inventory levels and sales and more efficient shipping and receiving schedules to maintain optimized inventory.

Alltel integrated the Oracle Retail applications with its existing billing platform so that orders from resellers, call centers, and retail stores can be processed in the same format using consistent data and reporting functions.

In addition, Alltel is using Oracle Retail Point-of-Service and Oracle Retail Store Inventory Management for stock control and cash payment functions to inform merchandising and inventory decisions, eliminating the need to invest in a full merchandising system.

In stores, the Oracle Retail user interface allows Alltel to minimize training time, enabling store employees to quickly and easily complete transactions and orders using the new point-of-service system.

Alltel selected Oracle based on its ease-of-use, reporting strength and the security features around cash management and tracking.

SkillNet, a systems integrator and Gold level member in Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN), partnered in the implementation.
