Stockholm, Sweden, Apr 11, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
Panopticon Software, the leading provider of visual data analysis software for real-time, CEP and historical time series data, today announced that Måns Hultman, former CEO of business intelligence software provider QlikTech, and Charles Kane, board member at Progress Software, Demandware and Carbonite, have signed on as advisors to Panopticon's Board of Directors.
Måns Hultman was the CEO of QlikTech from May 2000 to September 2007. Under his leadership, QlikTech grew from a small, product oriented Swedish software vendor, into one of the world's fastest growing software companies, with more than 6,000 customers across 75 countries. During the same period, revenue grew by more than 3,500%. He continued as Chairman of the Board until late 2009, leaving in early 2010, three weeks before the company filed for its IPO. The offering ultimately became the most successful NASDAQ IPO of 2010. Hultman is also a board member at Digital Route, It's Learning, Keybroker, NetAdmin and Informilo - a portfolio of rapidly growing, expansion stage technology companies.
Charles Kane brings to bear a wealth of strategic experience that will be highly influential for Panopticon as the company enters the next stage if its evolution. Kane is currently a Director at Progress Softwar and is also a Director, and the former President, of One Laptop Per Child, a non-profit organization that provides computing and internet access for students in the developing world. Kane previously served as a Director at Netezza Corp., before it was acquired by IBM, Applix Software, which was acquired by Cognos, and Borland Software, which was acquired by Micro Focus Corporation. Kane's executive leadership positions included CFO and CAO at Global BPO Services, CFO at RSA Security (now EMC), CFO at at Aspen Technology, CFO at Informix Software and President and CEO at Corechange, Inc. Kane also serves as an adjunct professor of international finance at the MIT Sloan Graduate Business School of Management.
Måns Hultman said, "Panopticon has done an excellent job of making its data visualization tools indispensable in capital markets firms that understand the absolute need for real-time, on-demand visibility into their operations, trading activities and risk exposures. I am particularly impressed by their blue chip client base. Firms like these can afford to buy or build whatever they need to gain technology driven competitive differentiation in the marketplace - they selected Panopticon based on the highly unique capabilities of the product and the scarcity value associated with the offering. I believe that Panopticon is extremely well positioned to break out and establish significant market share gains in telecoms, energy and several other key vertical markets in addition to financial services."
"I believe that real-time visual data analytics is fast becoming a key element in virtually every major sector of the economy", mentioned Charles Kane. "Managers must be able to make good decisions quickly based on the most accurate data available. However, they have access to colossal volumes of data that is changing constantly; making decisions in today's "Big Data" environment increasingly difficult without the appropriate technology. Panopticon's real-time visualization software, which has been built from the ground up over the course of the past 13 years, is extraordinarily unique in the market and has the defensibility that will make it challenging for competitors to replicate. I believe the company is entering a strong growth phase as it expands into new markets and builds upon its impressive customer base in capital markets."
Carl Palmstierna, Panopticon's Chairman, added, "I am pleased to be working with Måns and Chuck to continuously refine our growth strategy, which is paramount in a sector that is evolving as quickly as real-time data analytics. There is no substitute for talent and they bring a wealth of insight and practical experience to our board that is unmatched. We see enormous potential in applying Panopticon's real-time data visualization capabilities in a wide variety of industries and their feedback and advice has already proven to be invaluable."
