Delta May Make Deal With JP Morgan To Finance ConocoPhillips' Facility Acquisition (DAL,JPM,COP)
Apr 11, 2012 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) --
4-11-12-Delta Air (NYSE:DAL) may have made a deal with JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) to finance its deal to acquire ConocoPhillips' (NYSE:COP) facility in Pennsylvania, according to CNBC, which cited sources familiar with the matter.
Delta would buy jet fuel from JP Morgan wholesale while the bank sells other fuels such as diesel and kerosene.
The deal would also involve Delta giving some unidentified oil companies part of the refinery's output in exchange for more jet fuel.
The transaction may cost JP Morgan (NYSE:JPM) "hundreds of millions" in initial costs, and may be cheaper for Delta than bank loans, CNBC said.
