ZipList Acquired by Condé Nas: Accelerating Mission of Being the Leading Digital Recipe and Shopping List Resource for Consumers Everywhere
Sterling, VA, Apr 12, 2012 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) --
ZipList, Inc. (http://www.ZipList.com), the leader in universal online and mobile shopping lists and recipe boxes, announced yesterday that it has been acquired by Condé Nast, owner of many of the world's most recognized media brands, including Epicurious, Gourmet Live and Bon Appétit. ZipList will remain a separate company with the same singular focus of becoming the universal platform used by consumers to manage their shopping lists and recipe boxes, wherever they may be.
As a result of the acquisition, Condé Nast's web and mobile food properties will become ZipList's newest clients, integrating the most sophisticated technology solutions for consumers and advertisers into their content-rich sites. With the first true one-stop shopping digital food network, ZipList is able to offer millions of users access to all their favorite recipes from multiple devices, including mobile, PC and tablet. Users can populate their individual recipe boxes with personal recipes as well as recipes discovered on any food site, blog, television show, e-cookbook, magazine and print cookbook via QR codes.
The integration of the recipe box into Condé Nast's food sites increases the reach of the ZipList network, which includes over 6,500 food partner sites and leading blogs such as MarthaStewart.com, Simply Recipes and Skinnytaste. The result is an unparalleled network of foodies that advertisers can communicate with, and a truly universal recipe box that audiences can access from multiple touch-points.
The Condé Nast resources and funding invested in ZipList enables the company to accelerate the innovation and distribution of its technology to reach more consumers across multiple platforms during the food consideration and purchase process. Additionally, new resources will allow ZipList's leading engineering team to develop more robust technologies across an even greater array of devices which will aggregate content into a singular recipe hub available on any device.
"We have found a tremendous partner in Condé Nast, which recognizes the immense value of us continuing to build out our partner network independently," said Geoff Allen, co-founder and CEO of ZipList. "The more places ZipList is available, the more value we provide to users, our partners and advertisers - and we plan on accelerating that mission with the resources of Condé Nast behind us."
The acquisition will enable advanced marketing applications for advertisers to one of the largest networks of food-engaged consumers who will benefit from relevant offers during their recipe and food-purchase decision-making process.
"The marriage of Epicurious and other Condé Nast food titles' content with ZipList's technologically-advanced universal digital recipe box and shopping list creates a valuable experience for both our consumers and the advertisers who want to reach them," said Beth-Ann Eason, senior vice president, general manager for Condé Nast, overseeing Epicurious and Gourmet Live. "This partnership is consistent with our promise to serve consumers both award-winning content and innovative solutions across all devices - any time, anywhere.
ZipList will continue to operate out of Northern Virginia and New York.
