BRIEF: Robbers reportedly take cash, SUV in credit union heist

Apr 12, 2012 (The News-Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Authorities are investigating the reported robbery of a credit union in New Haven where cash and an employee's SUV were reportedly stolen.

The incident took place around 8:40 a.m., according to a news release from the New Haven Police Department. New Haven Police were notified by a 911 call that a robbery had taken place at the Midwest America Federal Credit Union branch located at 2011 Wayne Haven Drive.


The release says that two men ambushed employees at the credit union, then fled in a black 2009 Saturn Vue that they took from an employee. The vehicle has the license plate RLE-654, according to the release.

The incident is being investigated by the New Haven Police Department and the Northeast Indiana Federal Bank Robbery Task Force.
