Venus 2i-BT Bluetooth audio platform introduced by Frontier Silicon

Digital radio and Internet audio solutions supplier Frontier Silicon announced on Friday the launch of Venus 2i-BT bringing Bluetooth music streaming to DAB/DAB+ radios.
According to the company, the addition of Bluetooth connectivity to the Frontier DAB platform develops the Venus 2i platform into a fully featured solution for wireless docking systems with the benefit of digital and FM radio as an additional audio source.
Venus2i-BT uses the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) to allow wireless Bluetooth transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source to its audio system. To allow for remote track selection and advanced media playback features, the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) is also implemented.
No pricing details were disclosed.
