NXP names Dave French as EVP and GM of new business unit

Apr 17, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- NXP Semiconductors NV (Nasdaq:NXPI) announced on Monday the appointment of Dave French as EVP and GM for BU Portable & Computing.

NXP said that its High Performance Mixed Signal Business Unit will be split into two separate units, namely BU Industrial & Infrastructure and BU Portable & Computing.

French will also be a member of the NXP's management team.

French, who has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, most recently was president and CEO of Cirrus Logic. Prior to that he served in business leadership roles as GM of logic products at Fairchild semiconductor and GM of Analog Devices' DSP business line for nearly 10 years. He started his career at Texas Instruments, working on microcontroller products and ultimately managing the DSP product line.
