General Dynamics wins contract from US Army to support 160th Signal Brigade

Apr 19, 2012 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics Corporation, has received a contract from the US Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command to support the 160th Signal Brigade.

The five-year contract has a potential value of $64.5 million if all options are exercised. The 160th Signal Brigade provides the US Central Command with the enterprise communications capabilities needed for missions throughout Southwest Asia and the US.

General Dynamics will carry out administrative, information assurance, cyber security and operations functions, as well as provide power and facilities engineering, logistics services and IT networking and transmission expertise to aid the 160th Signal Brigade as it provides theater-level communications for the US Central Command. Work will be performed in Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan.

"General Dynamics has a strong history with the 160th Signal Brigade and significant experience delivering advanced communications capabilities," said Zannie Smith, senior vice president of the National and Homeland Security Division for General Dynamics Information Technology. "We understand the importance of the brigade's mission and the critical role it plays in supporting US troops in the Middle East." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
