Escambia County Selects Manatron's Integrated Property Tax Software [Manufacturing Close - Up]
(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Manatron, Inc. announced that the Escambia County Tax Collector in Pensacola, Fla., has contracted with the company to implement its Government Revenue Management (GRM) Tax system, software that allows tax officials to maintain, bill, collect and distribute property and other taxes.
According to a release, the installation will be an upgrade from the Tax Collector's current Manatron software MVP Tax.
The Escambia County Tax Collector selected Manatron based on the company's experience in Escambia County and other counties in Florida, as well as for the technology and features of its software suite including multiple implementation options through SaaS, on- site and hosted deployments. Manatron's GRM installation positions the Escambia County Tax Collector to take advantage of the next generation of web-based software and will provide tax collector staff with more technical support and increased efficiency. The Company reported that the software also provides the tax collector with additional functionality for data query, reporting and analysis.
"After an in-depth comparison of various systems, it became apparent that Manatron's GRM Tax software will not only provide us with the best technologies to meet our needs, but also the customer service and support to ensure its ongoing success. We are eager to begin this new project," said Janet Holley, Escambia County tax collector.
Throughout the implementation process, Manatron said it will be preparing the Escambia County Tax Collector for a more technically advanced future, as the new software will allow the office to improve communication and interaction with the taxpayers, while offering better use of departmental resources. Manatron expects to launch the software in 2012.
"We are very excited the Escambia County Tax Collector has chosen to continue its relationship with Manatron and implement our GRM software," said Bill McKinzie, SVP and general manager of the government segment for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. "Escambia County is a key example of how a forward- thinking county can better serve its constituents by bringing in advanced technology."
Manatron, a Thomson Reuters business, provides software and services for governments worldwide to assess real and personal property, and to bill and collect the related property taxes in their jurisdictions.
