MegaFon announces appointment of Ivan Tavrin as Chief Executive Officer

Release date- 20042012 - The Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting decided to appoint Ivan Tavrin as Chief Executive Officer of MegaFon.
MegaFon's Board of Directors decided that Sergey Soldatenkov, formerly MegaFon's CEO, will be recommended as a candidate for election to the Board of Directors at the next annual shareholders meeting. The decision will come into force as of April 20, 2012.

Having considered a number of other candidates, all shareholders agree that the candidacy of Ivan Tavrin is optimal. Sergey Soldatenkov has completed the process of introducing Ivan Tavrin to all aspects of the company's operations. This process took place over a period of approximately four months, during which time Ivan became fully aware of the company's directions in all key areas, including the work of all affiliates and subsidiaries.

Ivan Tavrin biography
Ivan Tavrin was born on November 1, 1976 in Moscow and he is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). In 1997, Ivan Tavrin founded 'Construct-Region' and developed it into the largest agency in the regional advertising market. Ivan was involved in establishing a number of successful Russian media companies, including Regional Media Group, Media One Holding, Vyberi Radio Group and TV-3. Ivan Tavrin is Chairman of the Board and a shareholder in UTH, the largest media holding company in Russia (MUZ-TV and Disney Channel). In 2009, Ivan Tavrin received 'Russia's Media Manager of the Year' award. He is a member of the Executive Board of the National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters.
