Barnwell County Hospital Selects New Radiology Services Partner
BARNWELL, S.C. --(Business Wire)--
Barnwell
County Hospital (BCH) announced today that it has partnered with Radisphere,
the national radiology group that is defining quality standards in
radiology. Radisphere will work closely with BCH's medical staff to
support the best patient care possible.
Radiology is important to physicians because it is often the starting
point of patient care. The partnership with Radisphere provides BCH's
medical staff with access to high-quality final reports 24/7/365.
"After a thorough evaluation of many radiology providers, we selected
Radisphere because of its strong commitment to quality interpretations
and its clinical expertise," said Mary Valliant, CEO for BCH. "Both
administration and the medical staff were impressed with Radisphere's
delivery model because it meets our requirements of helping to improve
the patient care experience and controlling spending without sacrificing
quality."
"Radisphere's commitment to delivering fast and accurate final reports
improves the level of care we can offer our patients," said Verston
Service, MD, Medical Director of BCH's Emergency Department. "Another
benefi of the partnership with Radisphere is our ability to have
real-time consultations with subspecialty radiologists, which expands
the scope of clinical expertise we provide to patients."
Radisphere employs veteran radiologists with expertise in a range of
areas including emergency department radiology, neuroradiology,
musculoskeletal radiology, women's imaging, and nuclear medicine. All of
Radisphere's radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of
Radiology and are located in the United States. Radisphere requires
their radiologists to have three-to-five years of experience that
include:
-
Academic and/or fellowship experience
-
Clear motivation to focus exclusively on their subspecialty area
-
Interpreting an average of 10,000 to 15,000 cases annually to maintain
their expertise
"In this era of healthcare reform, BCH realizes it must provide
standards-based radiology that will increase the level of accountability
to satisfy medical staff requirements and effectively treat patients,"
said Radisphere's Co-founder Peter Franklin, MD. "Imaging is a
significant clinical and cost component of most major diseases, from
cancer and cardiovascular disease to obesity and stroke. A strong
radiology partner at the start of the treatment process helps physicians
make more informed diagnoses so that they can provide the highest
quality of care to their patients as efficiently as possible."
