Cinterion M2M Modules Get Pre-Approved for AT&T's 4G Network Certification Status, and Integrated by Device Maker Psion
NEW ORLEANS --(Business Wire)--
Regulatory News:
Cinterion (News - Alert), the global leader in cellular machine-to-machine (M2M)
communication and a Gemalto (Euronext NL 0000400653 GTO) company, today
announced that its leading-edge PH8 and PHS8 M2M modules have passed the
Pre-Approval testing on AT&T's (News - Alert) 4G HSPA+ wireless network, a
certification that shortens M2M device makers' product approval time.
With the AT&T Pre-Approval and the Full Type Approval in place, these
flagship Cinterion modules help wireless solution developers in North
America bring 4G M2M solutions to market faster and more cost
efficiently. Psion, a worldwide leader in ruggedized handheld computers,
has begun integrating the PH8 module in its industrial PDA - the Psion
EP10 is immediately available for enterprise customers across North
America.
The modules provide a confirmed footprint migration to 4G LTE (News - Alert) network,
and are designed to enable a wide range of high-bandwidth M2M
applications such as ruggedized PDAs, video surveillance, remote
monitoring, advanced security solutions and more.
Cinterion's ultra slim modules provide secure and reliable
communications across all AT&T networks. Offering integrated GPS,
advanced voice technology and an option for flexible Land Grid Array
surface mounting, industry leaders are already integrating Cinterion's
leading-edge modules for data-intensive M2M applications that require 4G
speeds and functionality. In addition, both modules share a common
footprint with the LTE roadmap, providing a seamless migration path to
evolving next generation wireless technology.
"Global mobile network operators are continually advancing networks
toward 4G technologies and beyond. M2M developers need high quality
modules that can reliably operate across varied wireless technologies to
assure the longevity required for M2M solutions," said Norbert
Muhrer, CEO Cinterion. "Cinterion's PH8 and PHS8 give our customers a
competitive advantage in introducing next-geeration 4G M2M solutions,
and they are ready for operation on the AT&T HSPA+ network."
PH8 and PHS8 development kits and commercial production modules are
available immediately. For more information, contact sales@cinterion.com.
