BRIEF: Family safe in Lincoln Hts. fire

One person suffered minor injuries in a house fire overnight in northwest Charlotte, authorities say.
The fire was reported about 2 a.m. at a wood-frame house on St. John Street, near LaSalle Street in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood. The two residents escaped without serious injury, although one person reportedly was treated for smoke inhalation.
Also saved were the family's two dogs and two cats. The American Red Cross was helping provide shelter for the residents.
