Amartus Demonstrates CE 2.0 Service Delivery at Ethernet Expo
NEW YORK --(Business Wire)--
Amartus,
a developer of next-generation service delivery software solutions, will
demonstrate how Carrier Ethernet 2.0 service delivery can be fully
automated using its Service Commander™ software.
Service Commander enables service providers to rapidly design, deploy
and operate services that fully exploit the rich capabilities of Carrier
Ethernet 2.0 such as multiple class-of-service definitions, improved
management metrics and uniform inter-carrier Ethernet exchange
capabilities.
"All of the new features in CE 2.0 point to more innovation in carrier
services, but without automated service management carriers will be
unable to exploit these advantages fully," said Michael Kearns, CEO of
Amartus. "Our support for CE 2.0 in Service Commander gives carriers an
end-to-end service delivery capability that ensures rapid service
provisioning and enables a new class of on-demand, dynamic services."
Service Commander is built on Amartus' unique dynamic modeling
technology that enables service providers to achieve rapid new service
rollout, dynamic on-demand provisioning and Open Network Service APIs,
which customers, partners and application developers can use to activate
and manage services.
"Carrier Ethernet 2.0 is accelerating the move by carriers to
packetbased networks, a market we see growing rapidly - we expect
carrier investments in CE equipment to reach over $42 billion in 2016,"
stated Michael Howard (News - Alert), principal analyst for carrier networks at
Infonetics Research. "Service providers have been focused on the cost
savings of using Carrier Ethernet, but CE 2.0 increases automation and
service management functions, so that products based on CE 2.0, like
Service Commander, can be used for flexible service creation and service
deployment."
The Service Commander CE 2.0 demonstration will be delivered to the
industry for the first time in booth 227 at the Light Reading (News - Alert) Ethernet
Expo Americas 2012 conference on Nov. 6-7 at the New York Hilton.
CEO Michael Kearns will also speak on a panel titled "Transforming
Ethernet Service Delivery to Enable Scale, Real-time Services and the
Customer Experience" with other industry experts on Nov. 7 at 4 p.m.
Service Commander Technical Highlights
Service Commander provides rapid end-to-end service delivery for highly
complex networks that traverse multiple carriers, domains, technologies
and equipment vendors. It offers service-centric processes and tools for
the design, deployment and operation of dynamic on-demand connectivity
that underpin next-generation cloud, business, mobile and residential
data networks.
The software was designed to enable carriers to transition quickly from
current static service offerings with fixed subscriptions to the dynamic
'cloud' era where the expectation is for instant-on elastic pay per use
network services.
