TMCNet: Introduces New Caller ID Unmasking Service

[November 09, 2012] Introduces New Caller ID Unmasking Service

Red Bank, NJ, Nov 09, 2012 ( via COMTEX) -- As the number of mobile phones in service grows at a skyrocketing rate, Americans are receiving far more calls from phone numbers without a corresponding name being displayed on their caller ID than ever before. The new service offered by WantCell picks up where the telephone company's caller ID service and printed residential phone book directories of the past left off. Users now have the ability search by phone number in real time and view current owner data for millions of United States phone numbers.

The company primarily focuses on cellular phone numbers, but also has a substantial repository of land line information: "Many land lines are either listed numbers or rarely blocked by caller ID. We see mobile as being the main thing [the market] is looking for right now." The phone number reports include, when available, the owner's full name, street address, estimated age, the phone company that manages the line, known relatives in the database, and any other pertinent information. WantCell's residential contact information is updated daily to provide users with results that are as extensive and error-free as possible.

Searches are kept entirely confidential, and the owner of that phone number will not be alerted that a search was conducted. WantCell takes concerns regarding consumer safety seriously and does not include minors in any list of known relatives.

In addition to the new phone number search options, WantCell continues to provide its existing moderated forum for the general public to leave comments on calls from troublesome phone numbers. Members can, for example, report a telemarketer that called at an inappropriate hour or alert others to new text messaging scams. The forum features are available for use by anyone who needs them for free.

Together with the new unmasking service and the user forums, WantCell seeks to provide a better experience for consumers who are faced with calls from unknown phone numbers. WantCell grows the database on a daily basis to help ensure its users are never left in the dark when their current caller ID service can't help them figure out who called.

About WantCell offers a comprehensive caller ID unmasking service to the public. Users can search by phone number and obtain owner information or leave a comment regarding the number for others to see. For more information, contact: pr (at) wantcell (dot) com Read the full story at
