Downgrade Alert for Windstream (WIN)

Windstream (NASDAQ:WIN) was downgraded from Neutral to Sell at Goldman Sachs today. The stock closed yesterday at $8.22 on volume of 9.2 million shares, above average daily volume of 6.5 million. In the past 52 weeks, Windstream share prices have been bracketed by a low of $8.07 and a high of $13.57 and closed yesterday at $8.22, 2% above that low price. In the last five trading sessions, the 50-day moving average (MA) has remained constant while the 200-day MA has slid 0.4%.
Windstream Corporation offers telecommunications services to residential and business customers in rural communities in the United States. The Company provides local telephone, high-speed Internet, long distance, network access, and video services in multiple states.
Potential upside of 37.7% exists for Windstream, based on a current level of $8.22 and analysts' average consensus price target of $11.32. The stock should find initial resistance at its 50-day moving average (MA) of $10.11 and further resistance at its 200-day MA of $10.61.
