The Location-Based Social App Convos Redefines the Way People Can Share Information

Honk Kong, Jan 09, 2013 ( via COMTEX) -- Developer of innovative and consumer-focused applications, Convos Limited, is pleased to announce the launch of the Convos app to the iTunes App Store. Convos is the first of its kind location-based social sharing app that aims to change the way users communicate through social media. By consolidating all social media platforms into one easy-to-use application with customizable profiles and privacy settings, Convos allows users to control where their content is sent and who sees it.

Convos is designed for people using social media for any reason: keeping up with friends, checking in on family, or networking with professionals. Within a single app, users can manage content on all of their social media sites and control who is able to view specific information. While photos from the previous night may wind up on the pages of friends, they can be kept far away from family and professional contacts.

Adding users to a Convos contact network is very user-friendly; users simply scan the custom generated QR code supplied by the app and their information will be added. When a new contact is added, options for what they can and cannot access will be available, allowing the user a large amount of privacy control. Users are given options like selecting certain co-workers to be restricted to email and task management sites while selected family and friends see only Facebook and Twitter posts.

"Convos is essentially a cross between location-based chatting and selective information sharing," said Convos Limited Chief Administrative Officer, Safiah Yoonus. "People obviously don't want everyone they know to know everything about them, so Convos lets its users choose which of their contacts can view particular information about them, keeping their information and location as protected as they would like it to be." Convos also features convenient real-time GPS location-sharing. Similar to Convos' profile-sharing privacy features, users have the ability to share their real-time locations with different select profiles, allowing users to plan events or meet up with nearby friends. Along with location-sharing, Convos allows real-time communication between contacts via instant messaging. Icons notify the user if their message has been sent and received, or if it failed to send, in order to provide a more effective means of communication than standard SMS texting. This messaging service is free with the app and only requires an internet connection.

About Convos: Convos, a Hong Kong based company, was established in 2011 by 17 year old founder, Antoine Vandenheste. It serves as a modern, professional web and mobile application that allows users to better manage groups of people with simple tools. Convos is a fun, fast and easy new way for users to share their location & information, while allowing them to plan events and send free messages.
