Belden to Demo End-to-End Connectivity Solutions at DistribuTECH
ST. LOUIS --(Business Wire)--
Belden Inc. (NYSE:BDC), a global leader in signal transmission solutions
for mission-critical applications, will be demonstrating its
substation-hardened industrial Ethernet solutions for both power
utilities and the substation automation manufacturers who support them
at DistribuTECH
2013 in San Diego January 29-31. Among the features at the Belden
booth (#3427) will be sample configurations of substation communications
solutions using MPLS, cellular and Ethernet WAN solutions and
demonstration of a new advanced router from Belden's GarrettCom (News - Alert) brand of
substation-hardened communications products. DistribuTECH is the power
transmission conference for electricity transmission and distribution
professionals. Belden is the only supplier of end-to-end connectivity
solutions to the power utility industry.
With products in 75 percent of the top 100 power utilities in North
America, Belden has a powerful platform on which to expand in 2013.
Substations are at the heart of the smart grid data collection and
management activity. The company's GarrettCom and Hirschmann brands,
along with its wire and cable group, provide substation-strength
connectivity solutions that extend from the edge of the substation

Belden's connectivity solutions support NERC (News - Alert) requirements fr cyber and

Solutions on display will emphasize Belden's ability to assist in

to fully-Ethernet configured communications systems that conform to IEC (News - Alert)

need to plan the evolution of equipment intended to be amortized over 30

Solutions will be configured from a variety of products. On display will
be GarrettCom's Magnum 10-series line of substation-hardened products
and DX line of routers and terminal servers. Hirschmann products to be
featured include Industrial Hi-Vision GUI-based network management
software, the Eagle line of secure firewall products, BAT wireless
access points and MIPP patch panels. Belden's Cat 5e and Cat 6
industrial Ethernet cable solutions will be on display as well.
