Simple Energy Joins eMeter's Alliance Program

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 29, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Simple Energy today announced they are joining the eMeter® Alliance Program as an Integrated Meter Data Management Technology and Developer Partner. Together, Simple Energy and eMeter, A Siemens Business, will collectively develop and sell integrated solutions for utility Smart Grid systems.

The eMeter Smart Grid ecosystem empowers eMeter's partners with the technology and support necessary to integrate their solutions with the EnergyIP® platform.

"The partnership with eMeter will provide millions of utility customers with a social, fun and simple way of understanding their own energy data," said Yoav Lurie, CEO and co-founder of Simple Energy. "By allowing more people access to their energy usage data in a motivating way on platforms where they are already spending their time such as web, email, and mobile, we make saving energy an easy and enjoyable experience." The Simple Energy platform helps users understand their energy use with actionable insights and compelling motivations based on behavioral science. The Simple Energy platform normalizes customer's energy usage, allowing participants to compare with friends. In addition, customers can form teams in order to compete on behalf of a cause they support, such as a school or community organization. Finally, the program follows strict privacy guidelines, comparing normalized scores among users without revealing any personalized, individual details about actual energy use.

eMeter's integrated Smart Grid partner ecosystem provides utilities with interoperable Smart Grid solutions based on industry standards and best practices, improving the integration process and lowering the total cost of ownership. As part of the ecosystem, partners gain access to eMeter's global network of utility customers, a suite of web services and support including API's, sample code, demo software licenses and testing programs. eMeter also puts its support desk and technical expertise at partners' full disposal.

"Our Smart Grid ecosystem allows utility customers to choose an interoperable solution that integrates the eMeter EnergyIP platform seamlessly with our partners' technology," said Shannon Amerman, Vice President of Alliances at eMeter, A Siemens Business.
