Tianjin 4G network to cover 75 sq. km by midyear, report
BEIJING, Feb 07, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) --
The Tianjin branch of China Mobile
(CHL.NYSE; 00941.HK) is expected to complete a TD-LTE larger-scale
pilot by the middle of this year and a total area of 75 square km
will be covered by the network, according to C114.com.
As one of China Mobile's 13 cities to construct TD-LTE
larger-scale pilot networks, Tianjin officially started to reform
TD-LTE stations in 2012 and is building 1,253 TD-LTE base stations.
China Mobile started trial commercial operation of China's
indigenous 4G TD-LTE network in Hangzhou and Wenzhou, Zhejiang
province. It is the first time that China has launched a large-scale
commercial operation of 4G and marks the beginning of China's
ultra-high-speed mobile Internet era. (Edited by Luo Jingjing,
