Technical Communications Corporation Reports Results for the Fiscal Quarter Ended December 29, 2012

CONCORD, Mass., Feb 08, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE via COMTEX) -- Technical Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:TCCO) today announced its results for the first quarter of its 2013 fiscal year. For the quarter ended December 29, 2012, the Company reported a net loss of $(310,000), or $(0.17) per share, on revenue of $1,597,000, compared to net income of $929,000, or $0.51 per share, on revenue of $4,441,000 for the quarter ended December 24, 2011.

Commenting on corporate performance, Carl H. Guild, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of TCC, said, "Revenues for the first quarter of fiscal 2013 fell short of our objectives due to continuing delays in the award of certain significant planned contracts. We continue to work to capture this business and anticipate the start of such projects in the later part of the 2013 fiscal year. We expect revenues in the second and possibly third quarters of fiscal 2013 to continue at a low level due to these contract delays.

TCC's new product development efforts, which were discussed in our recent annual report and press release, continue to yield good progress. Field demonstrations and tests are being planned and performed as part of our customers' evaluation process." About Technical Communications Corporation TCC designs, manufactures, and supports superior-grade secure communications systems that protect highly sensitive information transmitted over a wide range of data, voice and fax networks. TCC's security solutions protect information privacy on every continent in over 115 countries.
