Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. and Contela, Inc. Partner to Deliver Enterprise LTE Small Cell Solution

Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. (Hitachi CTA) today announced that the company is partnering with Contela, Inc. to deliver an end-to-end LTE Small Cell solution. The solution leverages the Hitachi ER5000 Small Cell Gateway (News - Alert) and Contela's LTE Small Cell Access Point for enterprise and public applications. The combined solution ensures stable high speed service, and supports faster deployment of high-speed LTE (News - Alert) network coverage.

An LTE Small Cell, also known as a Home eNode B (HeNB) or a femto cell, provides LTE base-station functionality in a very small, cost-effective form factor, ensuring the highest data capacity and RF coverage for business and home users. In wireless networks where data demands are constantly outpacing existing infrastructure, the Hitachi/Contela (News - Alert) LTE Small Cell solution enables the efficient handling of data traffic while minimizing the signaling load presented to the existing EPC elements in the core network.

Hitachi CTA has developed and deployed telecommunications equipment in extremely competitive and advanced network environments and continues this tradition by delivering a leading edge end-to-end LTE small cell solution.
