Registration Now Open For Third Annual (ISC)2(R) Security Congress

Palm Harbor, Fla., Feb 20, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- (ISC)²(R) ("ISC-squared"), the world's largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP(R), today announced delegates can now register for its third annual Security Congress, to be held September 24-27, 2013 in Chicago, Illinois at McCormick Place.

The third annual (ISC)² Security Congress will be colocated with the ASIS International 2013 59th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2013), providing opportunities for security professionals from many disciplines to network and collaborate while learning about new security technologies and keeping up with the latest industry threats and trends. The two events will be held together at McCormick Place, providing attendees with professional development opportunities that span both traditional and cyber security landscapes.

Congress will focus on empowering cyber security leaders with knowledge, connections, and tools, with more than 200 educational sessions, numerous special events, and an exhibit floor showcasing more than 700 product and service providers. The colocated events will bring together over 20,000 security professionals from multiple disciplines, making this the most comprehensive education and networking event in the security industry. Security experts from around the world will present educational sessions on timely security solutions and up-to-date intelligence for the traditional or cyber security practitioner.

Key conference tracks include: Governance, Regulation and Compliance Threats - Inside and Out Cloud Security Swiss Army Knife - Tips, Tools, and Techniques for the Well-Rounded Information Security Professional Application Security Mobile Security and Social Networking Software Assurance Malware Government Security Program "Attendees to last year's Congress were thrilled with their experience," said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director of (ISC)². "We more than doubled our attendance over 2011, and the numerous (ISC)2 members I spoke with were impressed by the caliber of both the presenters and sessions. They also appreciated having an intimate setting to interact with their peers and (ISC)² staff, set against the backdrop of a big conference feel. Their satisfaction was also reflected in the feedback we received from the nearly 90 high quality educational sessions that received an overall score of 5.26 out of a possible 6.0 by conference attendees. The 2013 event will offer even more compelling education, networking, and career development opportunities, including a full-scale cyber competition involving all aspects of integrated security." The program will also feature pre-conference training, including a two-day intensive seminar for (ISC)²'s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP(R)) credentials and two-day education programs for Cloud Security, Mobile Security, Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and Digital Forensics. (ISC)² will also provide free, half-day credential clinics suited to current skills and career paths for those considering becoming (ISC)²-certified, as well as a Career Pavilion that offers attendees career advice and resources, and the opportunity to engage with professional recruiters, universities, and potential employers on site. Congress attendees will be given the opportunity to connect face-to-face with peers from diverse backgrounds and interests, sharing experiences and exchanging ideas at daily networking luncheons.

(ISC)² members will have opportunities to attend exclusive member events, including a networking reception and Town Hall Meeting. The Town Hall Meeting gives (ISC)² members the chance to pose questions to a panel consisting of (ISC)2 executive staff, the Board of Directors, and other organizational leaders. Members interested in becoming a volunteer for (ISC)²'s Safe and Secure Online program will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive volunteer orientation session.
