Verisk Companies 3E and AER Win EBI Business Achievement Awards for Environmental Information Solutions

Sponsored by Environmental Business International, which publishes the Environmental Business Journal, the 2012 EBJ Business Achievement Award winners were determined by a committee of EBJ staff and EBJ editrial advisory board members. Criteria for the award included revenue growth, profitability gains, technology innovations, and noteworthy expansions or acquisitions.

3E Company was recognized for a number of strategic product rollouts and enhancements in 2012, including its ongoing support for the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) for the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) across all business units and products with 3E's MSDgen SDS authoring platform. AER received a Business Achievement Award in the climate change category for developing new approaches and methods for measuring and forecasting solar and wind resources that allow renewable power plant developers to measure more accurately both long-term production and short-term variations in resource availability. AER developed the Solance™ solar irradiance forecast specifically tailored to the needs of concentrated solar power (CSP (News - Alert)) plants. AER was also lauded for developing a new method specifically designed for the offshore wind energy market to provide synthetic 30-year climatologies - at ultra-high space and time resolution - of wind at hub height.
