Market Maker Surveillance Report. XCHC, WMT, MRVL, TLM, WFC, DHI, Bullishly Biased Price Friction For Thursday, February 21st 2013

Feb 22, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 4014 companies with "abnormal" market making, 1704 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3708 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bullish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more selling than buying in the stocks and their stock prices rose. X-CHANGE CORP/THE (OTC:XCHC), Wal-Mart Stores Inc (NYSE:WMT), Marvell Technology Group Ltd (NASDAQ:MRVL), Talisman Energy Inc (NYSE:TLM), WELLS FARGO & COMPANY (NYSE:WFC), DR Horton Inc (NYSE:DHI). Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction XCHC $0.029 16.57% 4,466,452 44.09% 5,664,176 55.91% -1,197,724 Abnormal WMT $1.070 1.55% 5,881,497 28.97% 6,783,268 33.41% -901,771 Abnormal MRVL $0.570 6.17% 6,575,183 45.16% 7,685,069 52.78% -1,109,886 Abnormal TLM $0.230 1.86% 2,651,533 28.03% 3,462,272 36.60% -810,739 Abnormal WFC $0.360 1.03% 7,942,029 22.74% 14,196,299 40.65% -6,254,270 Abnormal DHI $0.240 1.09% 2,180,375 25.73% 2,889,958 34.11% -709,583 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more selling than buying on Thursday and their stock prices rose. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows XCHC with 1,197,724 greater shares of selling than buying (NetVol) and the stock price was up $0.02900. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more selling than buying should cause prices to drop.
