Market Maker Surveillance Report. ELN, MTG, ATML, YHOO, BTU, ZNGA, Bearishly Biased Price Friction For Wednesday, March 20th 2013

Mar 21, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Wednesday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Wednesday there were 4008 companies with "abnormal" market making, 3420 companies with positive Friction Factors and 1933 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with Abnormal Price Friction (bearish bias) in their stock prices. This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices dropped. Elan Corporation PLC (NYSE:ELN), MGIC Investment Corp (NYSE:MTG), Atmel Corp (NASDAQ:ATML), Yahoo! Inc (NASDAQ:YHOO), Peabody Energy Corp (NYSE:BTU), Zynga Inc (NASDAQ:ZNGA). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .

Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below: Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction ELN $-0.130 -1.11% 3,611,605 47.85% 2,012,010 26.66% 1,599,595 Abnormal MTG $-0.090 -1.89% 11,440,840 40.69% 10,405,037 37.00% 1,035,803 Abnormal ATML $-0.050 -0.73% 3,238,019 58.24% 2,301,556 41.39% 936,463 Abnormal YHOO $-0.070 -0.32% 9,974,030 55.13% 8,061,996 44.56% 1,912,034 Abnormal BTU $-0.080 -0.38% 5,025,278 54.00% 1,658,597 17.82% 3,366,681 Abnormal ZNGA $-0.120 -3.46% 16,419,080 52.06% 15,111,537 47.91% 1,307,543 Abnormal Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above had more buying than selling on Wednesday and their stock prices dropped. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.

For example, the chart above shows ELN with 1,599,595 greater shares of buying than selling (NetVol) and the stock price was down $-0.13000. This means the Market Makers were trading the stock in a way inconsistent with normal supply and demand (Economics 101); more buying than selling should cause prices to rise.
