Union Telephone Selects IDI Billing Solutions for New B/OSS

NEW ORLEANS --(Business Wire)--

Competitive Carriers Association Global Expo - IDI Billing Solutions (IDI), a leading developer of telecommunications billing, rating, order management, workflow, customer management and sales solutions, is pleased to announce that Mountain View, Wyo.-based Union Telephone has selected IDI's CostGuard® solution to replace its existing billing and OSS systems.

Union Telephone Company was established in 1914 and serves communities throughout Wyoming, northeastern Utah and northern Colorado. The company provides mobile and wireline service to both residential and business customers through 35 retail stores and authorized agents.

Union conducted an exhaustive search for a new billing partner before selecting IDI's award-winning CostGuard application. In implementing CostGuard, Union will be able to leverage new technologies and rapidly build out additional service offerings for its customers using the application's flexible product catalog and powerful rating engine. Union's customers can also expect to see enhancements as CostGuard's point of sale module brings additional care capabilities to the company's retail stores.

Operationally, Union's mobile and wireline businesses will be united under the CostGuard application, creating a convergent view of the company's sales, inventory, product management, financial, retail and customer service operations. Union will also use CostGuard' open architecture and standard APIs to establish new partnerships and complete integration projects that improve information flow and efficiency throughout the business. Productivity gains are also expected as IDI's high-performance solution helps reduce the time and effort required to complete regular billing operations.

"We looked at a wide range of B/OSS solution providers and felt that IDI had a comprehensive solution that would give us a convergent view of our business and streamline operations so we can remain focused on serving our customers," said Chris Sutton, IT Director of Union Telephone. "With IDI we have a robust billing application, access to a knowledgeable professional services team and expert U.S.-based billing personnel. We look forward to a long and productive partnership."

"Union Telephone is a progressive carrier that remains as committed today as it was nearly 100 years ago on ensuring its customers have access to the latest technologies and services at a competitive price," said Donald Culeton, president and CEO of IDI Billing Solutions. "As a successful telecommunications service provider, Union is keeping one eye on its current operations and one eye on the future. We're pleased to be helping Union keep everything in view."
