TexelEnergie and Nexant RevenueManager Ink Pact to Manage Customer Self-Service Portal

Jun 20, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Nexant announced that TexelEnergie, a Dutch energy cooperative generating, buying, and selling gas and power to customers in the local community of Texel in the Netherlands, has signed an agreement to license the Nexant RevenueManager software platform to manage a customer self-service portal, customer care and billing, market messaging, and prospecting for its residential and small and medium enterprise gas and power customers.

According to a release, the Nexant platform is scheduled to go live in August and supports the new Dutch energy market model as defined by Energie Data Service Nederland's "StroomOpwaarts" program. TexelEnergie also plans to support business processes of partnering cooperatives in the near future, leveraging Nexant software to its full capacity.

"During the last couple of years, TexelEnergie has grown from a start-up to a solid energy retail company that requires more robust software to manage our growth and business strategy," said Brendan de Graaf, TexelEnergie Managing Director. "We believe the Nexant energy retail software platform will allow TexelEnergie and partnering co-ops to take ownership, streamline, and manage their end-to-end energy retail processes. Nexant is our chosen vendor for this solution because of its inherent flexibility, fast go-to-market, low cost-to-serve-and, above all, a proven solution-in the local deregulated energy retail market compliant with StroomOpwaarts. This passes a direct benefit through to our customers, who feel secure that the added value of TexelEnergie products is leveraged by excellent services." "We are pleased to expand the Nexant customer footprint in the Netherlands, with a resourceful and service-oriented energy generator and supplier such as TexelEnergie," said Peter de Vroed, Nexant Regional Sales Manager (Europe). "As competition for domestic customers continues to heat up in Europe due to ongoing regulatory changes, introduction of smart meters, and new market demands, retail energy suppliers will need more flexibility and greater control of mission-critical energy retail business processes. We are confident that Nexant provides the true business agility and lower operating costs necessary for energy retail companies to grow market share and meet strategic business goals." Nexant offers a suite of services and software designed to transform utility business processes and implement smart grid and demand management initiatives.
