(Chemical Engineering Progress Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Service Pack Enhances Touch-Screen Experience This free service pack for the SCADA software InduSoft Web Studio version 7.1 adds multi-touch capabilities for touch-screen-enabled devices. Unlike traditional touchscreen designs, multi-touch systems can recognize the position of several touch contacts and finger movements at the same time. Users can navigate screens and issue commands without using a keyboard or pointing device. The service pack may reduce training time because many gestures, such as zoom and pan, function in the same way as they do for smartphones and tablets. Multi-touch technology also enables faster execution of commands.
