New Release of Mocana MAP Showcases Built-in Secure Browser

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)--

BLACK HAT USA 2013 - Extending its lead in the mobile enterprise security market, mobile app security leader Mocana (News - Alert) today announced a new release of its industry-leading Mobile App Protection™ (MAP™) solution. The new release features a secure built-in web browser specifically developed for use within the extended enterprise, as well as performance enhancements. With the new release of MAP, enterprises can securely mobilize their most sensitive intranet data, web apps and portals to virtually any iOS or Android (News - Alert)™ mobile device, in minutes.

The new browser built in to every copy of MAP benefits from all of the solution's robust security features, including FIPS 140-2 data-at-rest encryption, true per-app VPN capability, copy/paste protection and app-level data wipe.

"Executives and employees need in-hand access to all of the resources of their enterprise, wherever they are, but until now that meant IT had to build custom secure mobile apps to tie into all the different back-end systems and databases," said Alan Brenner, chief product officer at Mocana. "With the new release of Mocana MAP, IT can deploy and protect sensitive intranet data on mobile devices without writing any code. The ultra-secure Mocana browser enables users to access even the most sensitive enterprise data and systems, such as ordering, inventory management, and work flow applictions, from any iOS or Android device."

The Mocana MAP solution accelerates wide-scale deployment of enterprise mobile apps by easily and reliably adding a security shield to any app in seconds, regardless of device platform, and without the need to write any code. With its data-centric model of security, Mocana MAP helps meet the challenges of the third era of enterprise mobility by enabling IT to maintain security of sensitive enterprise data across a broad range of devices and apps.

MAP helps enterprises meet compliance and audit requirements, such as HIPAA and PCI (News - Alert), by automating and standardizing security implementations across all the apps in an enterprise, regardless of whether they were developed internally or by third parties. With MAP, enterprises don't have to penetration test, audit and certify every new app for security. Instead, enterprises merely certify a single app security process once.

Mocana MAP is largely invisible to end-users; MAP-wrapped apps work with their native user experience. And unlike many competing "app-shielding" packages, MAP is a robust and mature product that consistently performs in real-world bake-offs and penetration tests.

Black Hat attendees can learn more about the latest version of the Mocana MAP product by speaking to a Mocana security expert at booth number 533 at the conference.
