GENBAND's Enterprise SBC Wins 2014 Best VoIP Infrastructure Award from the Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA)

ORLANDO, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

GENBAND, a leading developer of multimedia and cloud communications solutions, today announced that its QUANTiX QFlex™ Enterprise Session Border Controller (eSBC) has been recognized with the 2014 Best VoIP Infrastructure Award by the Internet Telephony Service Providers' Association (ITSPA), the voice of the UK VoIP industry. The QFlex eSBC was recognized for its unique ability to resolve complex interoperability challenges. ITSPA unveiled the 2014 winners of its 6th annual awards at a recent event in central London.

"Given the rapid growth of the IP voice community in the UK and the many regulatory issues involved, ITSPA provides an integral role promoting the interests of the industry, and we are pleased that our eSBC offering has been recognized by this vital organization," said Brad Bush, Chief Marketing Officer for GENBAND (News - Alert). "The QFlex eSBC resolves security and interoperability challenges by providing a demarcation point between the enterprise and service provider network while supporting a wide range of IP PBXs and other network elements. QFlex uniquely enables our service provider customers to offer SIP Trunking services to a broader market, reducing the time-to-market and saving on interoperability-related costs."

GENBAND's eSBC, is deployable on commercial off-the-shelf technology or can be virtualized together with other applications on a platform. The software-based architectur offers a centralized web-based management system and extended deployment flexibility, including shared license pooling and an end-to-end fully tested SIP Trunking solution. Using a unique approach to solve multi-vendor interoperability issues, the GENBAND eSBC utilizes pre-loaded adaptors with profiles built for major IP PBX vendors, core session border controllers and application server platforms. This approach helps service providers and enterprises use supplementary services such as call forwarding, transfer and music on hold in a multi-vendor IP PBX environment, across different branch offices.

"Congratulations to all the winners and to those companies highly commended," said Eli Katz (News - Alert), ITSPA Chairman. "The success of the awards is a reflection of the efforts of ITSPA and its work continues at pace. All our work is geared to promoting our industry and ensuring our members are fully kept up to speed on threats, opportunities and new developments."

Awards were presented in the following eight categories, which represent the range and scope of the VoIP and Unified Communications (News - Alert) industry in Britain: Best Consumer VoIP, Best Business ITSP (Small Enterprise), Best Business ITSP (Medium Enterprise), Best Business ITSP (Corporate), Best VoIP CPE, Best VoIP Infrastructure, Best VoIP Innovation, and the ITSPA Members' Pick.

GENBAND's award-winning QFlex eSBC will be demonstrated at the Enterprise Connect (News - Alert) Conference & Exhibition along with other key components from its market-leading Generation Enterprise portfolio. Visit GENBAND at booth #719.
