DSCI Corporation, a New England based Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Service Provider (ITSP), announced that it has completed 10 years of business operations. Since its inception on Jan. 15, 2001, the company has come a long way and has focussed on taking advantage of deregulation in telecommunications to resell services to enterprise customers.
With only a handful of dedicated employees, the company started its business operations in Lexington, Mass. and Laconia, N.H. In order to establish the company during the first quarter of business, DSCI successfully hired 20 employees, formed contracts with six vendors, completed series C funding, and billed $30,000 ahead of forecast.
DSCI has also achieved significant milestones. In 2004, the company started building its own IP network. In 2005 it started to sell converged voice and data services over the DSCI network, as well as introduced the iPBX Hosted Communications Service.
On the eve of its tenth anniversary in 2010, the company grew to accommodate 91 employees at three sites, and has been responsible for more than 1,800 iPBX station installations.
In a release, the President and CEO of DSCI, Sean M. Dandley, said, “2001, in the midst of the dot-com implosion, was probably not the best time to start a telecom company. However, we had a solid business plan and enough faith in ourselves to take the plunge. Our immediate success in 2001 proved we were right. In an industry rife with incompetence and uncaring providers, DSCI’s superior service delivery provided a sharp competitive edge.”
“Our intent was, and remains, to carefully and methodically derive more and more of our revenue and profits from IP-based services. We see IP voice rapidly becoming the telecommunications technology choice for the enterprise customer. We will continue to rely on our time-honoured formula: the best team + the best products + the best service = superior results,” he added.
The Vice President of Marketing, DSCI, Mr. Jeff Kubick, added that, “In 2010, DSCI was named to both the Inc. 5000, a list of the fastest growing private companies, and to the Boston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work. We look forward to the next 10 years as we continue to grow and expand our services in the area of Unified Communications (News - Alert) such as video, IM, shared workspace and web conferencing. We will also continue our focus on building out the DSCI network to provide the highest level of availability and performance.”
