Sonus Networks, a provider of next-generation IP-based network solutions, is the newest platinum sponsor of the ITEXPO (News - Alert) that will be held from Sep 13 – 15 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas.

ITEXPO is the best-attended communications and technology trade show, and the ITEXPO West is currently ranked as the third fastest-growing event on Trade Show Executive Magazine’s Fastest 50 List. Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC), a global, integrated media company that helps clients build communities in print, in person, and online, hopes to quicken the ITEXPO West’s growth by bringing the show to Austin, one of the fast-growing technology hubs in the U.S.

Sonus asserted that it has deployed its Next-Generation Networks in over 50 countries for more than 150 customers, including five of the world's six largest carriers. The company also claimed that as of now it is behind nearly 40 percent of all IP-voice traffic worldwide-more than 40 billion minutes every month. Its offerings include media and signaling gateways, policy/routing servers, session border controllers and subscriber feature servers.

Recently Sonus introduced a software upgrade that delivers on the company’s plan to support IPv6 across its entire product line. The company’s IP-voice technology helps one migrate voice networks from TDM to IP and from IPv4 to IPv6, as well as transcoding between voice codecs.
