In order to facilitate business video-conferencing via cloud, San Diego, California-based video conferencing software and cloud computing online services provider Nefsis announced the launch of an enhanced version of its software-based VoIP engine.
Incorporating full-duplex and multiparty audio features, the enhanced VoIP engine allows multiple participants to speak at the same time. Launched as a part of its HD video conferencing cloud solution, the VoIP engine offers improved acoustic echo cancellation support for laptops and enables delivery of multipoint HD video conferencing to desktops and boardrooms.
The product is designed to benefit the customers that may have different networking environments, such as a low-latency wireline corporate connections, wireless home office or high-latency international connections. The solution will prove effective for the client base, which maintains a geographically dispersed workforce. The system supports large productive video conferences without the need for telepresence installations, which is rather expensive.
The new Nefsis VoIP audio engine comes with an array of advanced functionalities. The solution gives better noise cancellation and offers superior audio performance during online video meetings. The high-quality audio is complemented by hands-free webcam microphones. Nefsis also has automatic half-duplex echo cancellation failovers in place when full duplex is not available.
According to a press release, the new VoIP engine also handles different latency times among multiple participants and packet delay variations, the latter often referred to as jitter. These improve the overall quality of multiparty conferences with different connections.
In the release, the company informed that Nefsis' VoIP audio engine supports audio inputs from conference room equipment, such as ClearOne, Phoenix Audio Technologies (News - Alert), Revo Labs and Yamaha. Nefsis can also be delivered across PCs in a multipurpose conference room setting to facilitate large, productive meetings without requiring expensive, single-purpose telepresence installations.
“Most online service providers use simplex audio for three or more parties, which imposes unnatural limitations as parties wait to speak one at a time. Eliminating this concern, Nefsis' advanced VoIP engine ensures a superior, high-quality audio experience, regardless of network connection or number of participants speaking in a conference. Combined with Nefsis' support for traditional telephone conferencing, participants can select multiple, reliable audio options to ensure a superior video conferencing experience that meets their organization's unique needs,” Nefsis chief technology officer Allen Drennan noted in a statement.
Nefsis' advanced VoIP engine was released in its most recent cloud update and is available now to all Nefsis Professional subscribers and trial users, the company informed. The interested customers are invited to visit Nefsis’ website for a free 14-day trial of Nefsis Professional.
Earlier this month, Nefsis announced that Wright State University has implemented its "Deaf off Drugs and Alcohol" (DODA) long distance treatment counseling using the Nefsis global, cloud-based HD video conferencing service.
