BT (News - Alert), a provider of communications solutions and services, announced its next-generation voice trading platform with the launch of its collaboration suite for the Canadian market. The announcement was made at an event for the financial services industry at the TMX (TSX-X) Broadcast Centre in Toronto.

This next generation suite of cloud-based services is designed to offer cost-effective solutions, including a next-generation range of trader voice and collaboration services.

Market professionals can benefit as the new platform offers enough flexibility to interact, collaborate and trade securely. With greater compliance and via multiple communication channels, professionals across their enterprise can trade with their clients and counterparties.

BT conducted customer trails earlier this year. According to trails, services allowed users to spot opportunities, make faster and more informed decisions, offer advice to clients and move to capture client order-flow ahead of the competition. Customers could also service their clients better and with greater efficiency.

“BT recognizes that the financial services world is often the first to embrace new technologies and is relentlessly looking for new and more efficient ways of working for competitive advantage,” said Howard Boville, head of financial markets and managing director trading systems, BT, in a statement.

“BT developed this cloud-based collaboration service to continue to drive the industry toward faster, more informed communication and decision making in a flexible, scalable manner which is adaptable to market or regulatory changes,” Boville added.

BT's collaboration suite, an integral element of the BT Radianz Managed Infrastructure, offers communication and collaboration capabilities to the 15,000 global client sites connected into the BT Radianz community.

Recently, BT announced the availability of its converged communications platform, the BT Onevoice with support for Microsoft Lync 2010 in the U.S. The combination of BT’s global voice and video services with Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync will provide business customers with a new suite of collaboration tools.
