ATCOM Business Technology Solutions (News - Alert), a communications solutions provider, has partnered with the Town of Kernersville.

As part of the pact, ATCOM has installed a Mitel 3300 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications system for Kernersville.

Officials with ATCOM said that the system creates the ability to connect town employees through the latest VoIP platform, IP telephones and data network, allowing for seamless voice and data communication, and includes unified messaging, mobility, and redundant failover support.

“ATCOM’s deployment of the Mitel 3300 communications system has helped us bring a unified phone format to our end users, and simplify the overall administration of our phone systems,” said Gray Cassell, CGCIO, chief information officer for the Town of Kernersville, in a statement.

“Best of all, by using our existing data network infrastructure to serve the VoIP network needs, we have removed thousands of dollars in recurring costs by eliminating various PRI circuits,” said Cassell.

Kernersville is centrally located in the Piedmont Triad area of North Carolina, surrounded by the cities of Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point.

The town has a commitment to growth management that creates high quality development while maintaining a small town atmosphere.

“By installing a Mitel 3300 VoIP system for the Town of Kernersville, we were able to establish a town-wide network,” said David Finch (News - Alert), president and CEO of ATCOM Business Technology Solutions.

Finch said that the new system allows for seamless communication across the board, and includes applications built on a 100 percent resilient and redundant network. TMCnet recently reported that Finch has announced that the company has completed installing a new Mitel 3300 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications system for Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU).

Leveraging the Mitel 3300 VoIP communications system, LCCU which is headquartered in Durham, will now be able to link up with nine of its other branches located across North Carolina.

The Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU) was set up as a nonprofit financial institution which offers financial assets protection, offers loans, supports programs enabling financial independence and finances educational loans.
