The world of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and or Internet Protocol Video (IP Video) is changing at a fast pace, and enterprises deploying solutions based on these technologies at their premises need to keep an eye upon the overall infrastructure and its comprehensive functions to realize enhanced performance management.
With an aim to equip enterprises with an efficient and robust toolset for doing the same, Telchemy Incorporated, a provider of VoIP and IP Video performance management technology solutions, has announced to launch DVQattest Version 2.0, an advanced active test system for unified communications.
Enabling a number of IP network tests, DVQattest allows enterprises to initiate Voice over IP and Videoconferencing calls with SIP signaling, synthetic HTTP, POP3, SMTP, DNS and DHCP transactions. Additionally, it helps them in pre-deployment testing, SLA monitoring and resolving issues related to converged networks and services.
The solution features various small yet powerful software applications known as DVQattest Agents, which offer support for a variety of operating systems and hardware configurations such as Linux servers and appliances and Android (News - Alert) mobile phones. Companies can also integrate these applications into network equipment and CPE directly, after which they can run on-demand or scheduled tests. DVQattest allows the Agents to run a number of tests to other Agents or to IP phones, Web sites, Email sites and other network-based services simultaneously; and the applications offer support for complicated networks with overlapping IP address spaces and VLANs.
With the help of DVQattest Version 2.0, enterprises can analyze the overall performance of both SIP signaling and the media stream through these VoIP and Videoconferencing tests. Leveraging the well known VQmon technology developed by Telchemy (News - Alert), the solution measures Voice and Video quality and offers MOS scores in addition to various other diagnostic data as well. Enterprises can pre-configure codec, packet size and jitter buffer configuration while carrying out ‘VoIP’ or Voice over IP tests; and can pre-configure codec, image size, GoP, frame rate, bit rate and smoothing before carrying out the Videoconferencing tests through the DVQattest Version 2.0.
The solution features DVQattest Controller, a convenient management application that helps in streamlined test definition, remote DVQattest Agent management and test result collection and reporting. Enterprises with large networks can use its SQmediator performance management application for analyzing various users at the same time. Both DVQattest Controller and SQmediator interact with the DVQattest Agents through AES encrypted connections.
In October 2011, Telchemy Incorporated announced to launch VQmon for Streaming Video, providing a new standard for the analysis and measuring quality of video streaming services. VQmon had been designed to carry out analysis in real-time of streamed videos leveraging established protocols from Adobe (News - Alert), Apple and Microsoft; and evaluates and monitors the video and buffering performance quality and provides comprehensive performance and Quality of Experience standards.
